020 - Mud Means Media
This month HumberMUD celebrates how our industries record and present the world. Just as mud was the first media we ever used, the essential tale of Media Usability Design is to share experiences with other people. And here we bring it right up to date with film and 3D animation. Vinayan Kodoth
Filmmaker featuring in this year's International Documentary Festival at Amsterdam with his "Journeys" which portrays the packed commuting chaos to and from Mumbai each day. Having studied literature and film making in India Vinayan now lectures at Hull School of Art & Design.
Paul Starkey & Steven Conlan
Using historical images Paul and Steven have built 3D environments of early 20th Century docks for historical study. Tonight they explain the technical process of this ground-breaking work for Ferens Art Gallery which uses gaming engines for academic purposes.
Eric Coates
More 3D with Eric Coates - graduate of Hull School of Media Technologies and Stanford University. Eric is a firm advocate for the Stanford way - and tonight shares his experiences of developing the Stanford 3D chat-rooms on a campus that included Dr. Condoleeza Rice and Larry Page!

humberMUD is a regular networking and knowledge event for Media, Usability and Design in the Humber region. Featuring drinks, food and music... guest speakers... debate and discussion.
The Hull event takes place on the third Thursday of each month and the South Bank event on the second Tuesday.
