Propeller TV Wins Prestigious HOT BIRD TV Award

Propeller has won the HOT BIRD TV 2008 Cinema Channel Award, beating off stiff competition from Italian channel Sky Cinema 1 at a special ceremony at Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista, Venice, on Friday 14th November 2008. Now in its Eleventh year, the Hot Bird TV Awards celebrate the very best in thematic broadcasting in today's audiovisual Landscape.

Based in the Humber region, Propeller TV (SKY 195) is the first digital satellite television channel in Europe to screen 100% new and original programming and has won the award by showing an outstanding ability to understand and connect with its audience over a range of genres.

On receiving the award Carole Dove, Managing Director, propeller TV, said:
